Imitation is the Highest Form of Flattery

Imitation is the Highest Form of Flattery

Since Arbortech makes original designs, imitation is an inevitable part of our success and Arbortech technology has been copied all over the world. Every product we have ever made has been copied somewhere in the world.

While imitation can be flattering, working with power tools is a dangerous game and the importance of safety in the design cannot be understated.

Copycatters are not legally able to exactly replicate our products so they make them differently, and potentially risk making them unsafe. At Arbortech, discussions around safety feature heavily in the very early stages of design and are constantly being reinforced as the product develops.

As an example, the TURBOplane has three cutters that are very precisely shaped with a specific amount of exposure. The tooth has various angles on it so it takes an exact shaving of wood. It doesn’t tear the wood or kick back, it doesn't hit the wood and bounce risking hitting the user.

Arbortech products have been specifically designed NOT to exhibit those ‘bad behaviors’ and have been tested within an inch of their life.
